The aim is to identify key current issues and challenges and to explore how these issues could be addressed and encourage people to explore Europe's rich and diverse underwater cultural heritage in inland and inshore waters and seas.
The Expert Conference on the 25th of October will serve as a platform to exchange experiences and ideas and to present new achievements in the protection and preservation of underwater cultural heritage.
The International Meeting on the 26th of October will gather the representatives of the ministries of culture and specialized institutions dealing with the preservation of underwater cultural heritage.
The purpose is to discuss the legal framework on the protection of underwater archaeological heritage in each respective country and to identify practical aspects of its protection.
The Meeting will be devoted to the issues of the implementation of the UNESCO's 2001 Convention on the Protection of Underwater Cultural Heritage in the EU countries and other European countries.
